Habermann Moves to PopCap

It seems more and more often the talent at the long-established tech companies are making a move to video game development, specifically with the realm of social games.
PopCap today announced the hiring of one of the tech veterans from Adobe in Frits Habermann. Habermann has spent the last 20 years at Adobe, most recently as the VP of Core Technologies, and now moves to PopCap as their Chief Technical Officer.
“We’re thrilled to have Frits joining our management team and overseeing the company’s technology strategies and direction, which are key to our long-term success… Frits brings strong leadership and deep management experience, with a long history of products that focus on the user experience as it relates to technology and vice versa. His passion for gaming, combined with his background leading the technology group at Adobe, makes him a natural fit for PopCap as we expand our own cross-platform offerings to stake out a leadership position in social gaming and emerging technologies like the iPad.” Said PopCap’s Excutive Vice President of Studios Ed Allard.
More proof that the games and social games market are continually heading upwards these days. It’s always nice to see that the path we’ve always elected to take shown as in demand by announcements like these
